We meet the first Wednesday of every month at the Juliaetta Community Center
Zana Sherman President
Our mission with the community center is establishing a central meeting place in
Juliaetta to plan, create and produce community activities and opportunities. We
want the community center to encourage the whole community in participating in
decisions that affect them, and bolster community spirit.
The Juliaetta Community Improvement Association was formed in 2003 with
the mission to raise funds for a Community center in the city of Juliaetta. The idea
was that a community center will provide a meeting place for everyone in Juliaetta
with activities for adults, children, seniors and teens.
In November 2003, we applied for non-profit status with the Internal
Revenue Service and began researching funding possibilities for the community
center. In July 2004, we received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service
receiving our C-3 non- profit status. In July of 2008 after our advanced ruling
period, we are now considered a public charity and are classified to be tax exempt
under the 501 C-3 section of the Internal Revenue
The Juliaetta Community Center now houses the local food bank and the Come 4 Fun Program
We have put on the Juliaetta Car Show & Blackberry Festival for the last 12 years as a way to raise funds
toward our goal of a community center. We now use all of the proceeds from the
Juliaetta Car Show & Blackberry Festival for all of the maintenance and upkeep
for the building.
